Jerald Winetroub Company Marks New Direction With Lakeline Projects

Premiere Austin Real Estate Brokerage Firm Now also Focusing on Development in Austin, Bringing Strong Player into New Arena

AUSTIN, Texas—For more than 30 years the Jerald Winetroub Company, one of Central Texas’ premiere commercial real estate brokerage firms, has helped shape the rapidly changing face of Austin.

The boutique firm has been involved in some of the city’s most prominent multi-family, industrial, office and retail projects, including downtown’s One American Center and 111 Congress Avenue buildings, the Dell Headquarters, Arboretum Mall and Brodie Oaks Shopping Center.

The company’s recent purchase of nearly 200 acres in Lakeline is a signal of a new direction, as well as evidence that the Austin commercial real estate market has rebounded to the point where the experts are ready to get back in.

“It’s clearly the right time to re-enter the market and forge a new path,” Jerry Winetroub, sole proprietor of the company, said. “I’m so excited about this opportunity because it allows me to contribute to the next phase of Austin’s development by using my nearly 40 years of experience to handle all aspects of the land development process.”

While the company will continue its brokerage work, it will now focus primarily on land development, leveraging Winetroub’s familiarity with the complexities of the entitlement process and his career’s worth of relationships in Central Texas.

With the Wolf Lakeline/183 project the Jerald Winetroub Company is making a significant move from an investment standpoint that will also greatly impact the area’s surrounding community. It also marks the first time Winetroub has worked together with lifelong friend John Lewis and his company to co-develop a project.

The company is currently in the process of subdividing the property into smaller parcels for retail development, multifamily and other mixed uses. It expects to have a 40-acre retail site and a 46-acre multifamily site under contract to develop by the end of the year.

“I believe in Austin and I am excited about its future,” Winetroub, who is also helping develop a new comprehensive plan for future growth and development by serving on the city’s Comprehensive Plan Citizens Advisory Task Force Steering Committee, added. “I think that the best is yet to come for this city.”
